Lead Analyst, Embold Research
Change Research innovates to solve critically important problems at the intersection of data, social science, and politics. Since 2017, we’ve been at the forefront of measuring public opinion, and in 2021, we launched Embold Research, our nonpartisan public opinion research unit focused on helping public, private, and nonprofit entities improve the communities they serve.
In 2025, we will be expanding Embold’s impact in renewable energy and preparing to enter new sectors. We’re seeking an experienced team leader to guide our team and drive growth.
About the Role
This is a full-time, remote position initially reporting to the CEO. As we expand Embold’s impact in current and new sectors, we’re seeking an experienced research analyst to lead a talented team of analysts while playing a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction and growth. You’ll be responsible for the operational excellence of our polling work, and play a key role in the evolution of our product.
Core Responsibilities:
Research and Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team currently made up of of three skilled analysts, fostering their growth while maintaining high standards of research quality
- Conduct public opinion research on a wide range of topics using our proprietary approach and methodology
- Drive operational excellence in survey design, analysis, and client deliverables
- Collaborate with pollsters to develop and implement research methodologies tailored to new sectors
- Ensure consistent delivery of insights that help clients make better decisions
Product and Growth
- Collaborate with our product team to enhance the value of our client offerings and develop product features to serve business sectors
- Collaborate with the product team to pioneer new approaches to measuring and understanding public opinion
- Work closely with the Growth team to develop and refine sector-specific offerings
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners
- Help guide Embold’s expansion in the renewable energy sector
About you:
You will have the opportunity to gauge public opinion in many different ways with our fast-paced, humane and scientific approach to polling. This is an ideal position for someone who loves doing social science research, is well versed in technology, and wants to work hard to both help clients better understand complex issues and help reinvent what it means to measure public opinion.
Experience & Expertise:
- Leader with significant experience in research, consulting, or related fields, and with demonstrated leadership experience
- Deep understanding of public opinion research methodologies and best practices
- Experience in renewable energy, sustainability, or related fields strongly preferred
- Strong track record of and enthusiasm for building and scaling products and services
- Proven ability to translate research insights into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders
- Comfort working with corporate clients and understanding their unique needs
- Strong team leadership abilities with experience managing and developing research professionals
- Strategic mindset with ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
- Excellence in client relationship management
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Drive to build and scale innovative solutions
- Openness to exploring and implementing new research methodologies
- Startup mindset: willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range is $130,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience, and includes these benefits:
